What is public procurement?

Public procurement is a process of using public funds by a public body in order for that public body to gain some external resources, mainly for commercial operators. As part of the public sector reform and our future EU membership, Macedonia adopted a modern Law on Public Procurement in line with the EU Procurement Directives, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia no.136/07. The Law regulates all main aspects of the procurement process and provides mechanisms enabling contracting authorities to get best value for money.
